Bonne Bouche is getting bigger! We are very excited to announce that we are expanding next door....
Work is continuing on the new space and we would once again apologise for the inconvenience that the works are causing our customers...please bear with us and we will complete them as quickly as we can.
We have been delighted at the response to our plans... ... "great, a proper village shop at last..."
..."just what the village needs..." ...."how exciting, great to see a small business fighting back against the big high street names..." To give you some more information about the new plans... Fresh Meat We are working with Uptons fo Bassett, one of the most highly regarded butchers in the South. They will supply a range of "everyday" and more luxury meat products, for example, chicken fillets, braising steak, lamb chops, mince, sausages, bacon, steraks etc. In addition if you would like anything else you can order through the deli, Uptons will prepare it and then deliver to the deli for you to collect. This is obviusly new ground for us so we would really love to hear what meat you would like us to stock on a regular basis. For more information about Uptons of Basset please see their website: http://www.uptonsbutchers.co.uk/Fresh BreadWe have long been famous for our baguettes and we will continue to bake these off on-site. Our baguettes are made in France, part baked and frozen and then we bake them off in our oven throughout the morning to ensure a ready supply of freshly baked bread. We will be adding some new speciality breads to our range particularly at weekends (eg olive bread, walnut bread, sourdoughs etc.) In addition we will be getting daily deliveries from our baker Stainers of Bishops Waltham with the more traditional white, wholemeal and granary loaves. We will also be offering eccles cakes and lardy cake (we understand T J Hooker, who used to bake in what is now part of the Whyte Harte, were famous for their Lardy cake...anyone who remembers it, we would love to hear your views on our version). We will continue to make our sponge cakes, brownies, tiffin, flapjacks etc. in house.Stainers are a family bakers who bake in a small bakery in Bishops Waltham, Christine & John who run the bakery took over in the mid 80s and have been supplying bread to Bonne Bouche since we began. Again please let us know what you would like us to stock...Fruit & VegetablesClearly we use a lot of fresh vegetables, herbs, salad and fruit in the preparation of our sandwich fillings, quiches, salads soups etc. These will now be available for you to buy as well, maybe saving you a trip to the supermarket. We are also keen to hear from any keen local vegetable growers who have a glut of anything...why not let us sell it on your behalf...it all helps reduce those food miles! Finally, we would really like to hear from you as to what we should be stocking so why not drop us an email with your ideas or comments to: info@bonne-bouche.co.uk
